Getting to know your herb Chaliponga is a vine native to the rain forests of South America.It is high in Tryptamins such as DMT. Because of this it has been used as part of the recipe of a very psychoactive drink called Ayahuasca. Of the 20 species of Diplopterys only D. Cabrerana has been chemically investigated. Methods of use As stated above the leaves from this plant can be used to make a psychadelic brew called Ayahuasca. There are many different plants that can be used in this brew but the idea is to combine plants high in DMT and plants that act as a monoamide oxidise inhibitor ( this stops the breakdown of toxic chemicals in the brain allowing the effects of the DMT to be stronger and last longer. Chaliponga can be mixed with PassionFlower & or Syrian rue (both MAOI’s) to produce Ayahuasca.
Alternatively we have found that smoking the crumbled leaves of Chaliponga in a pipe or bong produce a very odd little high quite different from Cannabis.
