These films are my all-time favourites for one main reason - the aliens. Even now these creatures manage to create a feeling of terror when you look at them. I have always wanted to own these films, and this box set has every single thing that a fan would ever need. Why? That's what I'm here to tell you.
The first film, Alien, was (and still is) a horror movie (or terror movie, as Ridley Scott calls it) masterpiece. I have not yet seen a sci-fi/horror film that manages to create suce a wonderfully tense atmosphere. I suppose you could say it is a bit slow-moving at the beginning, but I think it keeps you watching in anticipation of the alien's appearance. The Director's Cut of this film basically smoothes over the film in general, and includes an excellent (In my humble opinion) deleted scene. The bonus features are also great, giving you real insight to the making of this film, that was to start a supremely successful franchise.
Next in line is Aliens, the sequel to Ridley Scott's space-borne thrill-ride. I think this is the best film in the tetralogy (Quadrilogy is actually a made-up word), and the Special Edition is the gem of the box. I LOVE this film. It has it all... Action, guns, love, horror, lots of aliens... It's just too good to describe in a review. If anything, buy this Quadrilogy for this film alone, it's really that good. The bonus features are, needless to say, again top-class.
